Description
The idea for this piece came to me after my computer was stolen. Stored on my hard drive was years worth of compositional work, which I am embarrassed to admit I had backed up only sporadically and rather incompletely. I was devastated by this loss. I felt very deep anger: rage.
Negativity and anger are powerful and cyclic forces. When we feel violated, we feel the need to make others suffer in some way, as we have suffered. Violations is my way of looking closely at human suffering, and in my own way, to exorcise the anger and blame I felt after my experience of losing so much of my creative work. Hannah Lash
