Product Details

Description

Tigran Mansurian’s violin concerto was written for the violinist Levon Chilingirian who premiered the work in Sweden with the ensemble Camerata Nordica in 2006. The title Vier ernste Gesänge [Four Serious Songs] refers to the song-like character of the four parts and the simplicity of its musical substance. It also alludes to Johannes Brahms’s Vier ernste Gesänge, especially to its poetic content centred around reflections on death. Tigran Mansurian

Content

I Andante con moto
II Andante mosso, agitato

IV Con moto, molto semplice
