Description

This work displays Christian Jost’s admiration for film director Stanley Kubrick. A brief opening model leads into a rhythmic figure which pervades the entire composition with the relentlessness of clockwork. The ceaseless ticking even continues in the quieter passages, repeatedly erupting and intensifying, only to be thrown back to the opening model three times. Ultimately, it leads into a type of epilogue which could almost be characterised as funeral music.
