Product Details

Description

The Great Swiftness was inspired by the bold, abstract forms of ’La Grande Vitesse’, Alexander Calder’s monumental sculpture in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. Commissioned by that city’s orchestra, this short piece also celebrates the newly-established ArtPrize, an open, publicly-juried art competition held annually in the city center.
