Product Details

Description

The music for 'Soul Catcher' was originally composed as an electroacoustic work for dance commissioned by English Dance Theatre in 1988.  Casken later returned to the work and made a new version for marimba (the sound source for the original music) and tape which could be performed in the concert hall. With a semi-improvised marimba part containing both precise and graphic notation, the skill and imagination of the soloist is left to reflect aboriginal colours and rhythms that were an important part of the original ballet.
