Description
Chanukah is the name given to the Jewish festival of light which is celebrated for eight days during the dark season of the year. The Heinerot Halalu is recited during the lighting of the first candle of the famous eight- or ninearmed candelabra. This text and many other verses have become traditional songs. Judith Clurman collected a selection of these songs which were then adapted to form a cantata for diff erent scorings by Larry Hochman and Brian Stokes Mitchell.
