Sonata
"A la Maresienne"
violin (flute) and basso continuo
Product Details
Description
Marin Marais (1656-1728) was a gambist and composer in Paris. The Sonata à Maresienne was published in 1723 in the anthology La Gamme et autres Morceaux de Simphonie . What is special about this sonata is that Marais himself authorized the performance with flute, even though the title page of the first edition only refers to the violin as the performing instrument.
