Description
The name of Nino Rota is irrevocably linked with his soundtracks to the films of Federico Fellini, Luchino Visconti, Francis Ford Coppola and other prominent international film directors. The great popularity of his film music has somewhat eclipsed the remainder of his output which includes chamber music, solo concertos, symphonies, oratorios and stage works. Roma capomunni, a secular cantata for soloists, choir and orchestra, is based on a collection of texts compiled by Vinci Verginelli combining a wide range of different authors such as Dante, Goethe, Plutarch, Horace and Virgil.
