In his two-part cycle Re-Visionen, Dieter Schnebel pays mass tribute in a marathon of ten homages, each to different great composers. The composer has chosen a significant variety – both in terms of ensemble size and scope – of the individual movements, which range from the one-minute Mozart-Moment, to the almost half hour-long Schubert-Phantasie; and from the great orchestral movements through string and vocal ensembles to his Webern-Variationen in which performers are free to play any instrument they choose.

In Re-Visionen II, Schnebel picks up a single idea or concept from one of the honored works, observes it briefly through a variety of modern angles, and then places it back where it came from.
