Product Details

Description

In this ballet completed in Paris in 1927, Bohuslav Martinu° was influenced by French neoclassicism which is presented here in a particularly lively and energetic manner. Popular melodies, vivacious rhythmic drive, cheeky and brash instrumentation and elements of the Paris jazz scene are uniquely blended with Martinu° ’s personal style.

On tourne [Roll the Cameras!] is actually a ballet for marionettes with an imaginative and bizarre plot about a maritime film shoot involving sailors, divers and all kinds of sea dwellers.
