Product Details

Description

Notte oscura is essentially the first orchestral interlude from Kenneth Hesketh’s opera based on Gogol’s The Overcoat. As well as depicting ‘our Northern cold … the wintry foe’, this miniature tone poem also reflects much of the trials the main protagonist in the opera has faced up to this point, both thematically and emotionally.
