Kyrie

Kyrie

for SATB chorus or men's chorus

  • Instrumentation: chorus SSAATTBB
  • Edition: choral score

description
The Chanticleer vocal ensemble commissioned five contemporary composers to write sections of And On Earth, Peace: A Chanticleer Mass to premier in the Temple of Dendur at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art in April, 2007. I composed the Kyrie portion. This is a unique collaborative work, gathering together composers with distinct cultural and musical backgrounds, each contributing one section of the mass. The twist is that we never heard or were told anything about what the others were doing. - Douglas J. Cuomo
