Ein Lichtspiel

Ein Lichtspiel

(after Moholy-Nagy)

(Vorspiel, Nachtstücke, Postludium)

for seventeen players

  • Instrumentation: seventeen players
  • Edition: performance material
  • Order No.: LSL 10117-01

Description
This work is a musical response to a film Ein Lichtspiel by László Moholy-Nagy, which Kenneth Hesketh began to view as an abstract ballet as he worked on the piece. The work can be performed with a DVD (available from Schott Music). The work consists of a Vorspiel and a Postludium which frames the central section that accompanies the film. The rhythmic pulsation of images in the film determines the development of the music.
