Product Details

Description

Earth and Fire follows on from the concerto "Changes“ [Veränderungen] in which the scheng, an instrument dating back thousands of years (played with virtuosity by Wu Wei) is also confronted with symphonic compositional style. What is new in the Taipeh project is that I have composed for the first time for a ”Chinese Orchestra” of over 60 performers playing different instruments (ranging from bandi and guzheng to xiagu and beigehu). “Earth” is ritual music which is then virtuosically superimposed by “Fire” (bringing destruction and transformation) and then transformed into a hymn of praise. Enjott Schneider
