About Xincao Li

Xincao Li is a graduate of the Central Conservatory of Music of China in Beijing and the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. By the age of 20, he had already worked with almost all the Chinese orchestras and opera houses. In 1999, he conducted a world tour with the China National Symphony Orchestra (with performances in the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Lincoln Center in New York, the Sidney Opera House, and Suntory Hall in Tokyo) that was enthusiastically received by critics and the public. At the present time, he has a repertory of more than 30 operas. He was recognized in 2000 as one of the 100 most influential Chinese young people in the 21st century, and in 2004 he was awarded one of the “Ten First Chinese Youth” study prizes.

Xincao Li has been the Principal Conductor of the China National Symphony Orchestra for many years, as well as Music Director and Chief Conductor of the Busan Philharmonic Orchestra, Music Director of the Shannxi Philharmonic Orchestra, and the China Youth Symphony Orchestra. At the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, he is professor for conducting. He is also a Syndical Member of the China Musicians’ Association, a member of the Standing Commit tee of the All-China Youth Federation, Vice Chairman of the Central Government Youth Federation, and State Council Expert for Special Allowance.
