About Tosiya Suzuki

Tosiya Suzuki studied the recorder at the Sweelinck Conservatory with Walter van Hauwe in Amsterdam. He specializes in performing contemporary music and working to extend the techniques and the possibilities of the recorder, having premiered works by, among others, Brian Ferneyhough, Luca Francesconi, Uroš Rojko, Salvatore Sciarrino, Gerhard Stäbler, Keiko Harada, Toshio Hosokawa, Hiroyuki Ito, Hitoshi Nakamura, Ichiro Nodaira, and Joji Yuasa. Suzuki founded a duo with Mayumi Miyata in 2001, and since 2002 he teaches at the Darmstadt Ferienkurse.
