Stephan  Rahn

The pianist Stephan Rahn is one of the most prominent and versatile musicians of his generation. He studied church music in Speyer, where he is Artistic Director of the contemporary music series Kontrapunkte Speyer, which he founded in 2008. As a pianist, harpsichordist, and organist, Rahn’s musical interests range from historically informed performances of Early Music to contemporary works. He has performed as a soloist with the Nuremberg Symphony, the Rheinland-Pfalz State Philharmonic, the Eastern Chamber Orchestra in Seoul, and the Kota Baru Parahyangan Symphony Orchestra in Indonesia. Rahn regularly performs music for trumpet and organ with Stephan Stadtfeld, the principal trumpet player of the Berlin Konzerthausorchester.

Stephan Rahn has received numerous awards, including First Prize at the Nuremberg Piano Competition. He has performed as a soloist, accompanist, and chamber musician in North and South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. He has recorded a wide range of works for radio, television, and CD.
