About Simin Tander

Simin Tander has Afghan-German roots, grew up in Cologne, and currently lives in Cologne and Oslo. She has worked regularly with her quartet made up of Dutch musicians since their first album in 2011, appearing at international festivals such as the North Sea Jazz Festival. Her collaboration with Norwegian pianist Tord Gustavsen began in 2016 and has led to international tours and the German Record Critics’ Prize. She will introduce a new quartet in 2020. Simin Tander teaches jazz singing at the Hochschule for Music in Cologne and the University of Osnabrück.
