About Robert Bork

Robert Bork studied at Wheaton College in Illinois, Indiana University, and the Hochschule für Musik Köln. After his first successes as a member of the Opernstudio Köln he became a member of the ensemble at the Oper Köln. That was followed by, among other places, La Scala in Milan, the Hamburgische Staatsoper, the Opéra national du Rhin in Strasbourg, La Fenice in Venice, the Nederlandse Opera, and the Royal Flanders Opera. Bork’s broad repertoire includes roles such as Mr. Redburn in "Billy Budd", Jochanaan in "Salome", the title role in "Der fliegende Holländer", Balstrode in "Peter Grimes", Don Carlo in "La Forza del destino", Faninal in "Der Rosenkavalier", Masetto in "Don Giovanni", and Ben Ata in the world première of Philip Glass's "The Marriages Between Zones Three, Four, and Five". Bork could also be heard in Henze’s "Das Floß der Medusa".
