About Rainer Wolters

Rainer Wolters was born in Berne and completed his violin studies with Prof. Aida Stucki at the Zurich Musikhochschule. Aside from that, attending master classes with Franco Gulli, Thomas Brandis and Paul Tortelier gave decisive impetus to his training as a violinist. He made his first appearances as a soloist and chamber musician at the International Music Weeks of Lucerne and Zurich, followed by performances in Assisi, Montpellier, London, Paris and Tokyo, among others. At the age of 22, Rainer Wolters joined the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, being the then youngest member. Further stages in his career as an orchestra musician were the Wurttemberg Chamber Orchestra of Heilbronn and the Philharmonic State Orchestra of Hamburg where he was the principal violin. In this function, he joined the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra in 1997 with which he performs regularly as a soloist.
