About Olga Watts

Olga Watts studied piano and musicology at the Moscow Conservatory. Later, at the Hochschule for Music in Munich, she studied harpsichord, fortepiano, and continuo with Lars Ulrik Mortensen and Christiane Schornsheim, receiving her diploma with honors in 1998 and her master’s diploma in 2003. She has participated in master classes with Menno van Delft and Bob van Asperen and has worked together with Reinhard Goebel, Franz Brüggen, Thomas Hengelbrock, Konrad Junghänel, Giovanni Antonini, Alessandro de Marchi, Paul Goodwin, Sergio Azzolini, Andreas Scholl, Maurice Steger, Dorothee Oberlinger, Vittorio Ghielmi and Albrecht Mayer, all of whom have given her further inspiration.
In 1997, she was honored as a young artist in Bavaria with the First Prize in the field of historical performance practice. Since then, she has concertized as a soloist and chamber music performer throughout Europe, as well as in Australia, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Africa, und South Korea, ranging from important European festivals to the Beijing Music Festival and the Hong Kong Art Festival. Since 2005, Olga Watts teaches as a coach for historical performance practice at the Hochschule for Music and Theater in Munich, and, since 2010, also at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg.
