Nathan  Plante

Nathan Plante was born in California, but has lived and worked in Europe since 2004. After receiving his Bachelor of Music degree in trumpet from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, he moved to Berlin to continue his studies with Bill Forman at the “Hanns Eisler” Academy of Music. Since completing his studies in Berlin in 2007, Plante has been active in the New Music scene, both as a soloist and as a member of various ensembles. He appears regularly with Ensemble Mosaik, the Kammerensemble Neue Musik Berlin, and with the Ensemble musikFabrik in Cologne. As a soloist, he has premiered new works such as “Wild Winged-One” by Liza Lim (in 2007) and “t.aAmiper” for trumpet and orchestra by Aleksandra Gryka (with the Symphony Orchestra of the Polish National Radio at the Warsaw Autumn in 2009). Plante can also be heard on CDs of music by Elena Mendoza-López, Benjamin Schweitzer, and Helmut Zapf.
