About Dorothee Oberlinger

Dorothee Oberlinger is one of the most renowned players of the recorder. After studies in Cologne, Amsterdam, and Milan, she made her international debut in 1997, winning the 1st Prize at the SRP/Moeck U.K. Competition at Wigmore Hall in London. There have since followed numerous invitations to international festivals and important concert halls.

As a soloist, she has since 2002 worked with her Ensemble 1700, as well as with renowned Baroque ensembles and orchestras such as the Sonatori de la Gioiosa Marca, Musica Antiqua Cologne, the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, the Academy of Ancient Music, Al Ayre Espagnol, L’Arte dei Suonatori, Zefiro, and Concerto Cologne.
Her CD recordings have been highly praised by international music critics and awarded the Diapason d’Or and an ECHO Klassik Prize. She made a successful debut as a conductor in Salzburg at the beginning of 2011.
In addition to her intensive engagement with Baroque music, Dorothee Oberlinger is also involved with contemporary music, and appeared on the Swiss pop duo Yello’s CD, "Touch".
Since 2009, she has been the director of the Arolsen Baroque Festival, and since 2004, professor at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, where she is the director of the Institute for Early Music.
