About Daniel Ochoa

The baritone, Daniel Ochoa, has performed in many of Europe’s major concert halls including the Gewandhaus in Leipzig and the Philharmonie and Konzerthaus in Berlin. He has toured throughout Europe and in Japan, and has sung at festivals such as the Lucerne Festival, the Flanders Festival, Dresden Days for Contemporary Music, MDR Music Summer, and the Bach Festival in Leipzig. Since the beginning of the 2012/13 season, Ochoa has been a member of the ensemble at the Vienna Volksoper, performing major roles such as Papageno in “The Magic Flute”, Figaro in “The Barber of Seville”, and the Counts in “The Marriage of Figaro” and “Der Wildschütz”. Ochoa studied singing with Anthony Baldwin (Rostock) and Hans-Joachim Beyer (Leipzig), as well as with Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Thomas Quasthoff, and Christa Maria Ziese. He currently works closely with Michael Rhodes.
