About Anna Korsun
Born in Donetsk/Ukraine in 1986, Anna Korsun studied composition at the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine in Kiev and at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich with Prof. Moritz Eggert. The main focus of her work falls on the investigation of acoustic instruments, the human voice and various sound-generating objects, which she transforms into electro-acoustical and performative creations. Her music straddles the fields of composition, theatre, choreography and video art. She also appears as a performance artist. Among her various awards and distinctions are the Gaudeamus International Composers Award, the Rome Prize (Villa Massimo) of the German federal government and the Berlin Art Prize. Her music is heard at many international festivals and has already been performed by such leading ensembles as the Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart, the SWR Vokalensemble, ensemble mosaik, Ensemble ascolta, AskoSchoenberg, Camerata Silesia, Silbersee and the Warsaw National Philharmonic Orchestra.www.annakorsun.com
